Flixpew follows the Direct-to-Customer (D2C) model, which means each product goes directly from the workshop to your home without any middlemen. This approach gives Flixpew the ability to take care of every step – from selecting the wood to crafting and finishing – while keeping prices transparent and fair. It also allows Flixpew to respond quickly and flexibly to personalized orders, creating shelves that feel like they were designed just for you.

Founded in 2024, Flixpew grew out of the passion of three young woodworking artisans and one interior designer, who share a love for natural beauty and handcrafted furniture. Together, they wanted to bring the warmth of wood and the soul of craftsmanship into modern living spaces.

The Workshop

Flixpew’s workshop is located at 1012 Marquez Place Ste 106-B, Santa Fe, NM 87505, United States, with a cozy space of about 120 m² (1,290 ft²). Inside this intimate workshop, modern tools meet traditional woodworking techniques. The space includes a CNC cutting machine capable of handling panels up to 4×8 ft, two sanding machines (manual and industrial), a finishing station for eco-friendly oils and varnishes, and a full set of traditional woodworking tools for hand-joining and carving.

On average, the workshop produces 25–30 bookshelves per month, balancing custom orders with ready-to-ship pieces. Though modest in size, the workshop is run with one guiding belief: “Do it right from the beginning.” Each bookshelf goes through a careful process so that what finally arrives in the United States is not just a shelf, but a handmade piece with character, heart, and story.

From the very first year, Flixpew has focused on serving customers in the United States, especially those between 28 and 45 years old who value handcrafted furniture and nature-inspired décor. These customers often appreciate rustic, sustainable, and warm designs, and are looking for pieces that not only serve a purpose but also bring meaning to their homes.

By the end of 2024, more than 200 customers across 15 U.S. states had chosen Flixpew’s tree bookshelves, making them a centerpiece of living rooms, home offices, and libraries.

Flixpew’s Signature Product – The Tree Bookshelf, Handmade with Passion

At the heart of Flixpew’s work is the Tree Bookshelf, a handcrafted creation where function meets artistry. Flixpew offers two product lines to suit different needs. The first is the ready-to-ship collection, with tree-shaped bookshelves, wall-mounted shelves, and artistic wood installations available for 3–5 day shipping. Each design is crafted in advance, so customers can enjoy a handmade product without waiting too long.

The second is customized designs – for those who want something more personal. Whether it’s adjusting the size to fit a particular wall, reshaping the branches, adding carved details, or exploring unique color finishes, Flixpew works alongside each customer to bring their vision to life. Every custom order becomes a shared journey, resulting in a bookshelf that truly feels like it belongs only to its owner.

Flixpew’s wood comes from trusted American suppliers such as Rockler Woodworking & Hardware, Woodcraft Supply, and Cherokee Wood Products. Each bookshelf is made from pine, oak, or driftwood, carefully inspected for moisture levels between 6–8%, strength, and beauty. Every batch of wood has clear traceability, giving customers confidence in both quality and source.

Each bookshelf is designed to hold up to 110–150 lbs of weight, with shelves made from planks 18–22 mm thick. The wood is treated against termites and pests, while 100% natural oils and eco-friendly varnishes are applied to protect and highlight its character. These treatments keep the shelf durable, easy to clean, and resistant to warping for 10+ years with proper care. To maintain the shelf’s beauty, Flixpew recommends wiping it with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoiding prolonged direct sunlight or extreme humidity.

Production Process & Quality Control – Crafting with Care

Every bookshelf is the result of a 10-step process that takes 7–14 days depending on the complexity of the design. It starts with wood selection, where each piece is checked for stability, grain pattern, and strength. Only wood that meets Flixpew’s expectations is chosen.

The next stage is cutting and shaping, combining CNC precision with handcrafting. The CNC machine creates accurate, tree-like curves, while artisans refine details by hand to give the bookshelf a natural flow. Surfaces are then sanded through four stages, from coarse to fine, until they become smooth and ready for finishing.

During the finishing stage, the wood is coated with three layers of natural oils or varnishes, each separated by a 24-hour drying time. This not only enhances the wood’s beauty but also provides protection against moisture and scratches.

Before a bookshelf leaves the workshop, it undergoes a comprehensive 15-point quality check. Every joint, shelf, and detail is reviewed for durability and appearance. For custom orders, an additional design approval stage ensures the final product matches the customer’s expectations perfectly.

To keep things simple, Flixpew also offers a fair return and replacement policy: any product damaged during production or shipping is replaced or refunded immediately.

Behind every bookshelf is a small but passionate team. Flixpew’s team of 8 members includes 2 designers, 4 artisans, 1 quality control specialist, and 1 customer care representative. Designers keep creating new concepts, artisans bring them to life, QC ensures each product meets standards, and customer care listens and supports customers every step of the way.

Thanks to close collaboration, the team can fulfill standard orders within 4-6 business days and custom orders within 2–3 weeks, without compromising on quality.
